Basketball Game Preview: Hoover Huskies vs. Roane County Raiders

The Hoover Huskies and the Roane County Raiders will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest, having both just played. Roane County took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Hoover, who comes in off a win.

Roane County better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if last week is any indication, that's when Hoover really gets things going. Hoover was the clear victors by a 76-54 margin over Wayne on Monday.

Meanwhile, Roane County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 68-47 to Ravenswood. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' West Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 117th, while the Red Devils are ranked 35th).

Roane County's loss dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Hoover, their victory bumped their record up to 14-4.

Everything came up roses for Hoover against Roane County in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, as the team secured a 71-44 win. Will Hoover repeat their success, or does Roane County have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
