Baseball Game Preview: East Rankin Academy Patriots vs. Park Place Christian Academy Crusaders

For the second straight game, East Rankin Academy will face off against Park Place Christian Academy. East Rankin Academy will square off against Park Place Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. East Rankin Academy will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.

On Thursday, East Rankin Academy made easy work of Park Place Christian Academy and carried off a 13-3 victory. The Patriots might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by ten runs or more this season.

Caden Kopf made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched five innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Luke Wesson, who scored three runs and stole five bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those five stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Aiden Carlisle was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

East Rankin Academy is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. Park Place Christian Academy is on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-9.
