Baseball Game Preview: Archbishop Riordan Crusaders vs. Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory Fightin' Irish

Archbishop Riordan is 0-10 against Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory since May of 2021 but things could change on Tuesday. Archbishop Riordan will be playing in front of their home fans against Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory at 4:00 p.m.

Archbishop Riordan is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their seventh straight game on Saturday. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-2 heartbreaker at the hands of Sequoia. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Crusaders have suffered since March 12, 2024.

Jacob Dubriwny made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run and two runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February of 2024.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory). They skirted past Saint Mary's 10-8. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Fightin' Irish.

PJ Vigo looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory is 4-1 when Vigo allowsone or fewer hits, but 3-4 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Rohan Kahns was incredible, going 3-for-6 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Tommy Do, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.

Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Archbishop Riordan's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9-1. As for Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory, their win bumped their record up to 7-5.
