Soccer Game Preview: Catholic vs. Jonesboro

The Catholic Rockets will head out to square off against the Jonesboro Hurricane at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Catholic will be strutting in after a victory while Jonesboro will be coming in after a loss.

Jonesboro better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if last week is any indication, that's when Catholic really gets things going. Everything went Catholic's way against North Little Rock on Thursday as Catholic made off with a 4-1 win. The Rockets haven't had any issues with the Charging Wildcats recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 0-0 at halftime, Jonesboro was not quite Bryant's equal in the second half on Thursday. They fell just short of the Hornets by a score of 2-1. That's two games in a row now that the Hurricane have lost by just one goal.

Catholic now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Jonesboro, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Catholic took their win against Jonesboro when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 4-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Catholic since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
