The Liberty County Bulldogs will take on the Port St. Joe Tiger Sharks at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Liberty County is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Altha a 12-0 shutout. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Liberty County got a great performance from Jason Walker as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Walker also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because the Bulldogs are 2-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 3-11 otherwise.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Charlie Sanders, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and one double. Those six RBI gave him a new career-high. Cayson Evans also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Port St. Joe not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since March 15th. They blew past Franklin County 13-3. Considering the Tiger Sharks have won eight games by more than eight runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Baylor Partie and Jacob Hensley made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Partie pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Hensley pitched 3.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off only two hits. At bat, Partie scored a run while going 1-for-4, while Hensley went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Port St. Joe got a massive performance out of Eli Godwin, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Peyton Knox, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.
Port St. Joe always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .537. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matchups.
Port St. Joe is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-10 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.6 runs over those games. As for Liberty County, their record now sits at 5-12.
Liberty County skirted past Port St. Joe 5-4 in their previous meeting back in April of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
