Basketball Recap: Mariyah Chambers' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Crisp County over Wilcox County

Crisp County played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Wilcox County Patriots, falling 58-32. The Cougars haven't had much luck with the Patriots recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Crisp County's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mariyah Chambers, who posted 12 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Lakayla Alexander, who put up six points in addition to eight boards and three steals.

Crisp County's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Wilcox County, their victory was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-0.

Crisp County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 47-28 loss against Sumter County on the 13th. As for Wilcox County, they have also already played their next matchup, a 45-39 win against Fitzgerald on the 13th.
