Softball Recap: Penn Cambria Starts Season with Win Against Greater Johnstown

Penn Cambria had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. Everything went their way against the Greater Johnstown Trojans as Penn Cambria made off with a 16-1 win. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now won six in a row.

Sophia Rabatin made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Rabatin was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Emily Cully was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Aubree Rickens was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Penn Cambria didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 11-2 loss against Forest Hills on the 20th. As for Greater Johnstown, they will square off against Rockwood at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
