Basketball Game Preview: Lakeside Rams vs. Sheridan Yellowjackets

Lakeside has won eight straight games at home, while Sheridan has won eight straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The Lakeside Rams will host the Sheridan Yellowjackets at 5:00 p.m. One thing working in Lakeside's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five games.

Lakeside is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They came out on top against Lake Hamilton by a score of 77-66 on Tuesday. With that victory, the Rams brought their scoring average up to 50.5 points per game.

It was another big night for Payton Futch, who almost dropped a double-double with 30 points and nine rebounds. Her evening made it 12 games in a row in which she has scored at least 15 points. Mckenzie Williams was another key player, going 5-for-12 on her way to 14 points in addition to five assists and five boards.

Meanwhile, Sheridan won against Lake Hamilton last Tuesday with 54 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Tuesday. Sheridan took down El Dorado 54-40. The win continues a trend for the Yellowjackets in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won four in a row.

Lakeside is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.8 points over those games. As for Sheridan, their victory bumped their record up to 16-9.

Lakeside beat Sheridan 49-36 when the teams last played back in January. Will Lakeside repeat their success, or does Sheridan have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
