Devin Huegel leads a balanced attack to beat Yreka

Make it ten blowout wins for the University Prep Panthers this season. Everything went their way against Yreka on Friday as University Prep made off with a 70-49 victory. The victory was familiar territory for University Prep who now have eight in a row.

University Prep's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Devin Huegel led the charge by scoring 17 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Huegel has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Scott Steffan, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds.

University Prep has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a massive bump to their 16-8 record this season. As for Yreka, they dropped their record down to 9-15 with that loss, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. University Prep will take on Lassen at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Yreka, they will head out on the road to challenge West Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully West Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Friday.
