Basketball Game Preview: Hillcrest Rams vs. Woodmont Wildcats

Hillcrest hasn't had much luck against Woodmont recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. Both will face off at 7:30 p.m. without much rest having both just played. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Hillcrest is headed into the matchup having just suffered their biggest loss since December 4, 2024 on Wednesday. They lost 69-43 to T.L. Hanna. The game marked the Rams' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Woodmont came up short against Greenville on Wednesday, falling 80-55. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 48th, while the Red Raiders are ranked sixth).

Hillcrest's defeat dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Woodmont, their loss dropped their record down to 8-4.

Hillcrest came up short against Woodmont in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, falling 60-54. Can Hillcrest avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
