Softball Game Preview: Ramona Rams vs. Paramount Pirates

The Ramona Rams will face off against the Paramount Pirates at 3:15 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Ramona is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Maranatha, sneaking past 3-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Rams.

Meanwhile, Paramount posted their closest win since March 29, 2025 on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 victory over Newbury Park.

CLARISSA NORIEGA spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on four hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Laritza Esparza was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Francheska Torres, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Paramount's win bumped their record up to 18-5-1. As for Ramona, their victory bumped their record up to 22-6.
