Softball Recap: Ocean View Takes a Loss

After flying high against Corona del Mar last Wednesday, Ocean View came back down to earth. Ocean View fell just short of the Anaheim Colonists by a score of 12-11 on Monday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Wednesday (ten), the Seahawks still had to take the loss.

Emily Mayorga was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 4-for-4. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Kaya Collado, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Even though they lost, Ocean View was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .421. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Ocean View's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Anaheim, they pushed their record up to 8-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Coming up, Ocean View will face off against University at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Anaheim, they are taking a road trip to take on Los Amigos at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Los Amigos will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something Anaheim surely won't give up without a fight.
