Basketball Recap: Williams Field Black Hawks vs. Highland Hawks
Williams Field was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 51-47 heartbreaker at the hands of the Highland Hawks. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Black Hawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 64-61 back in January.
Highland was led to victory by Nick Reber and Ty Crandall. Reber went 5 for 9 on his way to 16 points and three steals, while Crandall went 8 of 18 en route to 18 points. Reber is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Michael Johnson, who posted six points.
Williams Field's loss dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Highland, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-8.
Williams Field wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, an 87-65 victory against Gilbert on the 4th. As for Highland, they have also already played their next contest, a 77-56 win against Queen Creek on the 4th.
