Softball Recap: Hampshire Regional Picks Up Eighth Consecutive Win

With a playoff win on the line, Hampshire Regional rose to the challenge on Monday. They never let the Upper Cape Cod RVT Rams get on the board and left with a 21-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Raiders, who have now won 12 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Ryanne Dubay1 was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Caelyn Thayor, who went 4-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Kalin Dubay4, who went 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Hampshire Regional always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .641. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The victory (which was Hampshire Regional's eighth in a row) raised their record to 21-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.1 runs over those games. As for Upper Cape Cod RVT, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-8.

As of now, neither Hampshire Regional nor the Rams have any future games scheduled.
