Volleyball Recap: East Carteret Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

East Carteret had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They lost 3-0 to the Swansboro Pirates on Monday. The Mariners haven't had much luck with the Pirates recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-7, 25-16.

Despite the loss, East Carteret still got an impressive performance from Ashley Mintz, who had 21 digs.

Coming up, East Carteret will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against West Carteret at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Swansboro, they will face off against White Oak at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
