Basketball Game Preview: Caney Creek Panthers vs. College Park Cavaliers

Caney Creek is 0-5 against College Park since November of 2020 but things could change on Tuesday. The Caney Creek Panthers will host the College Park Cavaliers at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Caney Creek's tournament run continued when they took on Aldine on Friday. Caney Creek fell to Aldine 67-61. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1229th, while the Mustangs are ranked 564th).

Meanwhile, College Park was able to grind out a solid victory over Royal on Friday, taking the game 71-60. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cavaliers.

This is the second loss in a row for Caney Creek and nudges their season record down to 3-11. As for College Park, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.

Caney Creek lost to College Park at home by a decisive 76-57 margin in their previous meeting back in January. Can Caney Creek avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
