Basketball Recap: Collinsville Comes Up Short

Collinsville's game on Tuesday was all tied up 15-15 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They were outmatched by the Edwardsville Tigers and fell 55-26. While losing is never fun, the Kahoks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 202nd, while the Tigers are ranked 31st).

Collinsville's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 11-13. As for Edwardsville, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season.

Collinsville won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Father McGivney Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Father McGivney Catholic will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Collinsville surely won't give up without a fight. As for Edwardsville, they will host East St. Louis at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Edwardsville is facing East St. Louis at the right time seeing as East St. Louis is stuck on an 11-game losing streak.
