Baseball Recap: Center Moriches Find Success

Center Moriches proved they can win big last Monday (they won by seven) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Pierson Whalers 8-7.

The team relied heavily on Max Rayburn, who fired off two home runs and one stolen base while going 2-for-3. Those two home runs gave him a new career-high. Christian Meadows was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Center Moriches' victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Pierson, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-3.

Center Moriches will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Whalers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
