Baseball Recap: Landon Victorious

Landon's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Palmetto Tigers 6-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bears have posted since May 8, 2024.

Matthew Rosner was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over 5.1 innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Rosner wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Manny Monsalve, who scored a run while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits Monsalve has posted since back in March of 2024. Josh Burstein also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

The victory snapped Landon's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 7-5 record. As for Palmetto, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-16.

Landon wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 16-6 win against St. Stephen's & St. Agnes on the 1st. As for Palmetto, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 16-1 victory against Southeast on the 31st.
