Baseball Recap: Citrus Valley Has No Trouble Against Redlands

Citrus Valley had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Redlands on Tuesday. The Blackhawks blew past the Terriers 13-3. The win continues a trend for the Blackhawks in their matchups with the Terriers: they've now won six in a row.

Nolan Tornberg looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Citrus Valley is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 6-9 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Cole West was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Adrian Abarca was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Citrus Valley's record now sits at 11-9. As for Redlands, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season.

Citrus Valley will have a chance to go back-to-back against Redlands: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
