Utah high school football rankings: Corner Canyon beats Lone Peak, extends win streak to 33 games

By Staff Report Sep 28, 2020, 1:00pm

Skyridge stays at No. 1 despite huge win for Chargers.

Computer rankings produce funny results sometimes. Despite being nationally ranked, winning state championships in each of the past two years, riding one of high school football's longest winning streaks and generally dominating the competition in Utah, Corner Canyon remains at No. 2 in this week's rankings.

The Chargers have won 33 games in a row and are coming off a 35-25 win over No. 3 Lone Peak. Corner Canyon checked in at No. 13 in this week's MaxPreps Top 25 national rankings.

In defense of the computer's analysis, No. 1 Skyridge has been overpowering so far this season. The Falcons have won all seven contests by at least 20 points, including Friday's 35-7 win over Pleasant Grove.

Conveniently, we get a comparative test of sorts this week as Skyridge takes on Lone Peak.
