Basketball Game Preview: Red Mountain Mountain Lions vs. Desert Ridge Jaguars

Having just played yesterday, the Red Mountain Mountain Lions will head out on the road to face off against the Desert Ridge Jaguars at 5:03 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Red Mountain is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Horizon just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Monday. They fell 49-39 to the Huskies.

Meanwhile, Desert Ridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a blow against Gilbert, falling 79-31. While losing is never fun, the Jaguars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 146th, while the Tigers are ranked 12th).

Desert Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Red Mountain, their loss dropped their record down to 10-5.

Red Mountain strolled past Desert Ridge in their previous meeting back in December of 2021 by a score of 34-18. The rematch might be a little tougher for Red Mountain since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
