Soccer Game Preview: Swanton vs. Genoa Area

Swanton hasn't had much luck against Genoa Area recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Bulldogs will look to defend their home pitch against the Comets at 11:00 a.m. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

On Thursday, Swanton didn't have quite enough to beat Liberty Center and fell 2-1.

Meanwhile, Genoa Area lost 7-1 to Archbold on Tuesday. Genoa Area were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 3-0.

Their goal came courtesy of Gavin Goodman, who's now up to 12 this season.

Genoa Area's loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Swanton, they now have a losing record of 5-6-3.

Swanton might still be hurting after the 6-2 defeat they got from Genoa Area when the teams last played back in September of 2024. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Bulldogs were down 4-1.
