Baseball Recap: Berthoud Comes Up Short

Berthoud fell victim to Loveland and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They fell just short of the Red Wolves by a score of 2-0. The Spartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Wyatt Barmes spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on six hits and racked up seven Ks. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in May of 2024.

Berthoud's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Loveland, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Berthoud will head out to face off against Mead at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mead will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Berthoud surely won't give up without a fight. As for Loveland, they will face off against Poudre at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games Poudre has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
