Baseball Recap: Mountain Ridge Snaps 15-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Mountain Ridge dropped their record down to 11-5 on Monday, which also ended the team's 15-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 7-6 to the Riverton Silverwolves, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Silverwolves this season, with their most recent loss being a 7-6 defeat last Wednesday.

Mountain Ridge saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ethan Iacono, who fired off two home runs and five RBI while going 3-for-4.

As for Riverton, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season. That's two games straight that they have won by just one run.

On Riverton's side, Nolan Pezely looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. The dominant performance also gave Pezely a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

On the hitting side, Gaige Woods was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.

Coming up, Mountain Ridge will challenge Copper Hills at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Sentinels are facing the Grizzlies at the right time seeing as the Grizzlies are stuck on a 12-game losing streak. As for Riverton, they will head out to face off against Herriman at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
