Softball Recap: Berrien Springs Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Berrien Springs had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over the White Pigeon Chiefs. The Shamrocks not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since April 17th (when they won 12-1).

Addison Wattles was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Dylan Rospierski was incredible, going 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April. Isabel Hoover was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

The victory was their first on the road, bumping their record up to 7-11. As for White Pigeon, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-14.

Coming up, Berrien Springs will head out to challenge River Valley at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for White Pigeon, they will host Bangor at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
