Baseball Recap: Lin-Wood Comes Up Short

Lin-Wood suffered their biggest defeat since April 14th on Monday. They lost 12-2 to the Woodsville Engineers. The Lumberjacks were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Engineers earlier this season, when they won 7-3.

The loss snapped Lin-Wood's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 11-6 record. As for Woodsville, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Lin-Wood will take on rival Moultonborough Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Woodsville is set to face off against their familiar foe Gorham at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (the Engineers have won six straight at home, while the Huskies won five straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
