Olean is a perfect 3-0 against Griffith Institute since May of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Huskies will host the Griffins at 5:30 p.m. Olean is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.
On Monday, Olean came up short against Wellsville and fell 4-1.
Olean saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emma Edwards, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Griffith Institute, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Kennedy on Friday as they made off with an 18-2 victory. The Griffins haven't had any issues with the Bears recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.
Griffith Institute got a massive performance out of Erin Baker, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. That home run was Baker's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Kierstin Crone, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
Griffith Institute always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .562. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Olean now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Griffith Institute, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3.
Griffith Institute's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. Olean has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.9 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Griffith Institute, though, as they've been averaging only 3 strikeouts. Will Olean keep running through batters, or will the Griffins buck the trend?
