Baseball Recap: Braxton County Gets the Win

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Braxton County ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Moorefield Yellow Jackets, sneaking past 5-4.

Luke Kelly spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Matthew Miller, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April.

Braxton County's record now sits at 7-19. As for Moorefield, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-21 record this season.

As of now, neither Braxton County nor Moorefield have any future games scheduled.
