Softball Recap: Vernon Comes Up Short

Vernon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They came up short against the Jacksboro Tigers, falling 17-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-1 on Monday.

Vernon's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Jacksboro, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-8-1.

Coming up, Vernon will take on Iowa Park at 6:00 p.m. on March 17th. Iowa Park's pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so Vernon's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Jacksboro, they will square off against Bowie at 5:00 p.m. on March 18th. Jacksboro is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.
