Softball Recap: Harvest Christian Academy Triumphs

It was a proper cat-fight when Harvest Christian Academy duked it out with Wheeling on Saturday. The Lions came out on top against the Wildcats by a score of 15-12. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Lions considering their two-run performance the contest before.

Makayla Richards was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Haley Miller, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double.

Harvest Christian Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Harvest Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 8-10. As for Wheeling, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-11.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Harvest Christian Academy will face off against Aurora Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Wheeling, they will square off against Schaumburg at 4:45 p.m. on Monday. The Wildcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Saxons have averaged an impressive 7 runs per game this season.
