Recap: South Davidson Wildcats vs. Anson Bearcats

The South Davidson Wildcats fought the good fight in their overtime game against the Anson Bearcats on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 95-91 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bearcats. Despite running the score up even higher than they did last Friday (61), South Davidson still had to take the loss.

Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tanner Delattre, who scored 34 points. Delattre scored a full 37.4% of South Davidson's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Tanner Walters was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 13 rebounds.

Even though they lost, South Davidson were working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Jayden Little was his usual excellent self, scoring 47 points along with eight rebounds and seven steals for Anson. The contest was Little's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Robinson, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds.

This is the second loss in a row for South Davidson and nudges their season record down to 2-5. As for Anson, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Davidson will be home for the holidays to greet North Rowan at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Anson won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Bonnie Cone Leadership Academy at 6:00 p.m. on December 13th. Bonnie Cone Leadership Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 633rd, while Anson is ranked 279th).
