Softball Recap: Cross' Winning Streak Snapped at Five Games

If Cross was riding high fresh off their 20-5 takedown of Whale Branch last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Cross came up short against the Bluffton Bobcats on Friday, falling 14-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Stingrays have suffered since May 11, 2024.

Ryan Mayers made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. She is also on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Lulu Carbone, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.

Cross moved to 6-2 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak. As for Bluffton, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Looking ahead, Cross will face off against Dorchester Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bluffton, they will challenge Beaufort at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
