Basketball Recap: Clairemont's Luck Changes for the Better on Tuesday

Clairemont's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the High Tech SD Storm as the Clairemont Chieftains made off with a 66-45 victory. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Chieftains as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.

Clairemont's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Grant Rine, who went 5 for 10 en route to 16 points. Rine's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Blake Murphy, who went 5 of 8 on his way to 11 points and eight rebounds.

Clairemont smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in 18 consecutive contests.

Despite the loss, High Tech SD still got an impressive performance from Sebastian Blackaller, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 boards. Jayden Dimalanta was another key player, putting up nine points and five rebounds.

Clairemont's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-10. As for High Tech SD, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.

Clairemont has already played their next game, a 59-51 victory against Morse on the 17th. As for High Tech SD, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 53-14 win against Logan Memorial Education Campus on the 17th.
