Football Recap: Bay Shore Marauders vs. William Floyd Colonials
Bay Shore extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to eight on Saturday, dropping them down to 0-7. They had to suffer through a 42-0 loss at the hands of the William Floyd Colonials. The Marauders lost against the Colonials in their previous head to head back in October of 2019, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 42-26 score last time.
As for William Floyd, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 7-0. Considering they have won four contests by more than 19 points this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Jaquan Thomas continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 160 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries. Thomas is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 128 every time he's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Matt Taiani, who threw for 68 yards and a pair of TDs.
We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Bay Shore is set to face off against their familiar foe Riverhead at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, William Floyd will challenge rival Walt Whitman at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Colonials 9.4, the Wildcats 13) so any points scored will be well earned.
