Baseball Game Preview: Alcorn Central Bears vs. Kossuth Aggies

For the second straight game, Alcorn Central will face off against Kossuth. The Bears will head out to square off against the Aggies at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Alcorn Central took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Kossuth, sneaking past 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bears have posted since March 12th.

Jarrett Thomas spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four runs (all of which were unearned) on three hits and racked up nine Ks. He has been consistent : he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Alcorn Central saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zane Depoyster, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Alcorn Central's victory bumped their record up to 13-11. As for Kossuth, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 3-5.
