Football Recap: The Covenant School Eagles vs. Fredericksburg Christian Eagles
The Covenant School came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They were dealt a 61-22 defeat at the hands of Fredericksburg Christian. The Covenant School was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-12.
Trip Blalock continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Fredericksburg Christian, throwing for 356 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 14.2 yards per attempt, and also rushing for 72 yards and three scores on only ten carries. That's the most passing touchdowns Blalock has posted since back in August of 2024. A healthy portion of Blalock's aerial production (100 yards to be exact) went to Nate Caesar, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.
The Covenant School's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Fredericksburg Christian, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-1.
Looking ahead, The Covenant School will look to defend their home field on Friday against North Cross at 4:30 p.m. The Eagles will need to watch out since the Raiders have now posted at least 31 points in their last three matchups. As for Fredericksburg Christian, they will challenge Fork Union Military Academy at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
