Softball Recap: Christian Brothers Falcons vs. Bella Vista Broncos
Christian Brothers extended their losing streak to five on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 6-11 in the process. They came up short against the Bella Vista Broncos, falling 15-0. Considering the last time the Falcons couldn't score was back in February, the team can't take the result too hard.
As for Bella Vista, the win got them back to even at 11-11. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
For Bella Vista's part, Mackenzie Dean was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over five innings pitched. Dean has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 14 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with four RBI and one run. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Rosie Harrod, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024.
