Baseball Game Preview: Crawfordsville Athenians vs. Frankfort Hot Dogs

The Crawfordsville Athenians will face off against the Frankfort Hot Dogs at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Frankfort took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Crawfordsville, who comes in off a win.

On Saturday, Crawfordsville had just enough and edged out Park Tudor 5-4.

The team relied heavily on Jude Coursey, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one triple. Crawfordsville is 4-2 when Coursey posts two or more runs, but 5-8-1 otherwise. Matt Miller was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Frankfort fell victim to Fairfield and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 1-0.

Frankfort has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-10 record this season. As for Crawfordsville, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-10-1 record this season.

Everything went Crawfordsville's way against Frankfort in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Crawfordsville made off with an 8-0 win. Will the Athenians repeat their success, or do the Hot Dogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
