Baseball Game Preview: Wickliffe Blue Devils vs. Rootstown Rovers

For the second straight game, Wickliffe will face off against Rootstown. The Blue Devils will head out to challenge the Rovers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wickliffe is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.

Wickliffe is headed into the matchup having just posted their closest victory since May 8, 2025 on Monday. They skirted past Rootstown 3-1. The win was familiar territory for the Blue Devils, who have now won three contests in a row.

Frankie Bucar made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up just one earned run off eight hits. He also tossed two walks, which is notable because Wickliffe is undefeated when he allows at most two walks, but 3-8 otherwise. Bucar was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Bucar wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Max Andrasak, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Wickliffe's victory bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Rootstown, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-8.
