Volleyball Recap: East Wake Academy Snags Tenth Victory in Last 13 Games

If Warren County wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played East Wake Academy, they should've done a better job of containing Avery Schmidt. East Wake Academy blew past Warren County 3-0 on Tuesday with plenty of help from Schmidt, who had 26 assists and eight digs. She has been hot recently, having posted 17 or more assists the last four times she's played.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: East Wake Academy took every set by at least 12 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-4, 25-13.

East Wake Academy was led to victory by Sydney Bizub and Emma Collier. Bizub had six aces and one assist, while Collier had six aces. That's the most aces Bizub has posted over her last five matchups.

They weren't the only good servers: East Wake Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 17 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in eight consecutive matches.

East Wake Academy is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season. As for Warren County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-3.
