Football Recap: Jo Byrns Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Jo Byrns can now relate to. They came up short against the Coalfield Yellow Jackets on Friday, falling 39-14. While losing is never fun, the Red Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee football rankings (they are ranked 257th, while the Yellow Jackets are ranked 79th).

Jo Byrns' defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Coalfield, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 10-2.

Jo Byrns does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Coalfield, they will challenge Sale Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers' defense has only allowed 12.3 points per game this season, so the Yellow Jackets' offense will have their work cut out for them.
