LKY posted their closest victory since September 11th on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Whitefield Academy Wildcats 2-1. This was a revenge game for the Saints: when they faced off against the Wildcats back in August, they had to take a 3-1 loss.

Phoebe Ashbrook paced LKY's offense, picking up ten kills. Ashbrook got some help from Mandy Kvamme and her 13 assists. Kvamme was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

LKY is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-12 record this season. As for Whitefield Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-10.

LKY didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Bethlehem on the 27th. As for Whitefield Academy, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Presentation at 7:30 p.m. on October 7.
