Volleyball Recap: St. Henry Comes Up Short in High-Profile Game with Assumption

St. Henry faced Assumption in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Crusaders fell just short of the Rockets by a score of 3-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rockets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 on Saturday.

St. Henry wouldn't go down easily and took Assumption into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking ten-point loss. The final score came out to 22-25, 25-18, 22-25, 25-12, 15-5.

Gianna Butler paced St. Henry's offense, picking up 14 kills. Butler got some help from Madelyn Keipert and her 32 assists. Keipert was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

This is the second loss in a row for St. Henry and nudges their season record down to 7-2. As for Assumption, the win keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.

St. Henry has already played their next matchup, a 3-2 victory against North Oldham on the 28th. As for Assumption, they will take on Cathedral at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.
