Basketball Recap: Rock Hill Falls Despite Big Games from Bryce Allen and Dextan Hutchinson

Rock Hill suffered their biggest defeat since February 19, 2024 on Tuesday. They lost 75-54 to the Allen Eagles. The Blue Hawks have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Rock Hill's loss came despite strong showings from Dextan Hutchinson and Bryce Allen. Hutchinson went 5 of 9 on his way to 20 points, while Allen posted ten points and five boards. Allen is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Tayvien Gasu, who scored eight points.

Allen's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Trent Pane led the charge by going 7 for 13 en route to 17 points and five rebounds. Dylan Matlock-Reed also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Rock Hill's loss dropped their record down to 9-12. As for Allen, the win (which was their 13th in a row) raised their record to 21-1.

Rock Hill wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 66-60 victory against Princeton on the 10th. Allen has also already played their next contest, a 62-41 win against Plano on the 11th.
