Basketball Recap: Whitinsville Christian Crusaders vs. Sutton Sammies
After flying high against Douglas last Tuesday, Whitinsville Christian came back down to earth. The Whitinsville Christian Crusaders were dealt a 63-32 defeat at the hands of the Sutton Sammies on Friday. The Crusaders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Sammies apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Despite the defeat, Whitinsville Christian saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Gabe Deters posted 15 points. That's the most points Deters has posted since back in January of 2024.
Sutton's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Chase Gara led the charge by putting up 20 points. Gara is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. Cam Benedict was another key player, scoring 15 points.
Whitinsville Christian's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Sutton, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-6.
