Volleyball Recap: Butternut Find Success

Butternut picked up another tournament win on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Gresham Community Wildcats 2-1.

Butternut had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 25-19, 15-11.

Alli Lueloff paced Butternut's offense, picking up eight kills. Lueloff got some help from Lizzie Pritzl and her 11 assists. Pritzl also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Olivia Hamann, racking up three apiece.

Butternut's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Gresham Community, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Butternut will take on Chequamegon in a tournament on Saturday. As for Gresham Community, they will challenge Northland Lutheran at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be Gresham Community's first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
