Baseball Recap: United Takes a Loss

Northern Cambria hit United with a six-run third inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Lions fell just short of the Colts by a score of 9-8. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Colts this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 17-1 on Tuesday.

Ryan Felix made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one double. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Dmitri Worthington, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

United has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season. As for Northern Cambria, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 14-1.

Looking ahead, United will face off against Ferndale at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Northern Cambria, they are taking a road trip to challenge Conemaugh Township at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
