Baseball Recap: Mt. Vernon Wins Going Away Against Guerin Catholic

Mt. Vernon barely beat Guerin Catholic the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Marauders blew past the Golden Eagles 12-2 on Thursday. The victory continues a trend for the Marauders in their matchups with the Golden Eagles: they've now won four in a row.

Mt. Vernon let Mason Meyer and Gavin Joy run wild. Meyer went 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI, while Joy got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Meyer has become a key player for Mt. Vernon: the team is undefeated when he posts at least one home run, but 3-5 otherwise. Drew Morgan was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
