Softball Game Preview: Oakwood Panthers vs. Centerville Tigers

Oakwood is on a three-game streak of home losses, and Centerville a 16-game streak of away losses dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Friday. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Oakwood Panthers face off against Centerville Tigers at 4:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Oakwood lost 10-1 to Latexo on Monday.

Oakwood saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaler Richardson, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two triples and one run.

Centerville had taken Leon down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Tuesday. The Tigers came up short against the Cougars, falling 16-4. That's two games in a row now that the Tigers have lost by exactly 12 runs.

Skyler Selvog was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-2. Another player making a difference was Tobi Chrisman, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and two RBI.

Centerville's loss dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Oakwood, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-9.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Oakwood has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Centerville struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Oakwood skirted past Centerville 15-14 in their previous matchup back in March. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
